Port Worker Fatally Injured at River Tees Marine Terminal [Middlesborough (UK) 08 December 2025]
While the factual aspects of this accident are unclear owing to the rather amorphous media coverage offered by the press (See links below), we are made to understand that an as-yet-unnamed worker at the A.V. Dawson port facility in Middlesborough; on the River Tees, received fatal injuries in a workplace accident taking place on 08 December 2025.
We can only relate that emergency responders were called to the marine terminal to no avail; that the local police and the U.K. Heath and Safety Executive have begun their investigations and that the employer has offered its standard regrets. We understand that A.V. Dawson’s website includes information which could lead one to believe that the firm has robust occupational safety & health, environmental & quality programs that are certified under the relevant ISO standards: https://www.portofmiddlesbrough.com/hseq/
Notwithstanding the dearth of information coming to us, we’ve made inquiries to friends within the U.K. port community requesting additional facts. If and when we receive updates that may be useful to our global port community, this post will be amended accordingly.
