Dockworker/Mechanic Killed in Russian Cruise Missile Attack on Container Terminal [Odessa, Ukraine – 10 July 2026]

News reaching Blueoceana Company has us understand that a Russian cruise missile of the Kalibr type shown above, struck the Container Terminal Odessa (CTO) yesterday (10 July 2026). An as-yet-unnamed dockworker-mechanic experienced fatal injuries as a result.

CTO is a modern container marine terminal, operated under a Ukrainian government license held by the German entity Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG [HHLA]. The terminal’s leasehold is approximately 91 acres and is outfitted with three berths served by six container gantry cranes, a series of RTGs and an on-dock rail feature.

CTO was likewise struck by Russian missiles last year (23 May 2025), resulting in the deaths of three marine terminal workers; serious injuries to five others and significant damage to terminal infrastructure. Two Iskander short range ballistic missiles are said to have been used in the attack, which Russian press reported were precision hits that targeted weapons being unloaded from a container vessel,
