Veteran Longshore Worker Hit By Moving Draft; Knocked Into Ship’s Cargo Hold; Succumbs To Injuries Sustained  [Santos, Brazil – 02 January 2025]

With great regret, Blueoceana Company has ben provided information which reveals that 17-year veteran longshore worker Cláudio Robert do Nascimento Nusa, 49, succumbed to injuries sustained during the loading of M/V AEGEAN SPIRIT (See photograph below) with drafts of a packaged lumber product.

Media reports (See links below) indicate that the worker was working on deck when he was struck by a moving draft coming into the ship. The impact knocked him over a hatch coaming and into the cargo hold.

He succumbed to the injuries he sustained while aboard the ship.
