understand that an as-yet-unnamed 60 year old worker was killed and another was seriously injured at the Socomac export grain marine terminal at La Rochelle port on Friday (06 March).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Media reports (<strong><em>See <\/em><\/strong>below) reveal that the workers were preparing for upcoming maintenance of the grain elevator&#8217;s system of belt conveyers, when a one ton counterweight used to stretch\/tighten the material that forms the conveyor&#8217;s belt accidentally fell striking the decedent and ejecting the other worker from the working surface
