{"id":7092,"date":"2024-12-27T13:18:44","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T18:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=7092"},"modified":"2024-12-28T17:00:28","modified_gmt":"2024-12-28T22:00:28","slug":"longshore-worker-fatally-crushed-aboard-containership-lagos-nigeria-25-december-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=7092","title":{"rendered":"Longshore Worker Fatally Crushed Aboard Containership [Lagos, Nigeria &#8211; 25 December 2024]"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Information received today at Blueoceana Company instructs us that an as-yet unnamed longshore worker lost his life while working aboard <strong>M\/V MSC SAMU<\/strong> (<em><strong>See<\/strong><\/em> photo below) on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Media reports stipulate that while in the employ of Five Star Logistics, Ltd, a marine terminal contractor operating Berths 9 &amp; 10 at Lagos port&#8217;s Tin Can Island Terminal D, the worker received crushing injuries to his head inflicted by one of the operator&#8217;s mobile harbor cranes. While those reports <em>(<strong>See<\/strong><\/em> links below) do not impart further details of the accident, we&#8217;ve initiated inquiries and hope to have additional information.
