{"id":6745,"date":"2024-01-21T21:02:33","date_gmt":"2024-01-22T02:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blueoceana.com\/?p=6745"},"modified":"2024-02-11T11:26:06","modified_gmt":"2024-02-11T16:26:06","slug":"marine-terminal-worker-drowns-after-fall-from-shipboard-ladder-binh-duong-vietnam-13-january-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=6745","title":{"rendered":"Marine Terminal Worker Drowns After Fall From Shipboard Ladder  [Binh Duong Port, Vietnam &#8211; 13 January 2024]"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Information reaching Blueoceana Company this evening has us understand that a marine terminal worker (likely a checker), while disembarking an unnamed river transport vessel at the Vietnamese port of Binh Duong, experienced a fall (<strong><em>See<\/em><\/strong> video clip, below) from a straight ladder extending horizontally from the vessel to the shore and then immersion in the Dong Nai River [part of the Mekong Delta system, just North of Ho Chi Minh City].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known to us only as &#8220;Mr. V.D.T.&#8221; (38 years old), the victim had reportedly boarded the vessel for &#8220;container inspection&#8221; and apparently fell from the access\/egress ladder and into the adjacent waters on his way back to shore.
