{"id":6540,"date":"2023-08-13T18:51:50","date_gmt":"2023-08-13T23:51:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blueoceana.com\/?p=6540"},"modified":"2023-08-14T12:01:31","modified_gmt":"2023-08-14T17:01:31","slug":"longshore-worker-dead-in-fatal-fall-while-discharging-bagged-fertilizer-ketapang-port-indonesia-11-august-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=6540","title":{"rendered":"Longshore Worker Dead in Fatal Fall While Discharging Bagged Fertilizer  [Ketapang Port, Indonesia  &#8211;  11 August 2023]"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With great regret, Blueoceana Company has received information telling us that a 71 year old longshore worker known to us only as Ma&#8217;adin A was fatally injured in a fall from the cabin of a truck receiving bagged fertilizer from <strong>M\/V PELITA MANDIRI 8<\/strong> (<em>See<\/em> photos, above &amp; below). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Media reports (<em>See <\/em>links, below) imply that the bagged fertilizer was being discharged using ship&#8217;s gear and cargo nets, and that during the landing exercise one such draft was upset by a gust of wind and knocked Mr. Ma&#8217;adin A from his position atop the truck&#8217;s structure. He fell to the ground, striking his head.
