{"id":6500,"date":"2023-08-04T15:23:59","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T20:23:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blueoceana.com\/?p=6500"},"modified":"2023-08-04T15:39:03","modified_gmt":"2023-08-04T20:39:03","slug":"longshore-worker-fatally-crushed-in-cargo-hold-by-falling-bale-taranto-puglia-italy-25-july-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=6500","title":{"rendered":"Longshore Worker Fatally Crushed In Cargo Hold  By Falling Bale [Taranto, Puglia, Italy &#8211; 25 July 2023]"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Information received today by Blueoceana Company instructs us that Sr. Antonio Bellanova, 31, a longshore worker involved in the discharge of a cargo of &#8220;<strong>ecobales<\/strong>&#8221; out of the Panamanian-flagged <strong>M\/V TURGUT SAHIN<\/strong>, (<em>See<\/em> photo below) was fatally crushed when one of the compressed refuse bales fell on him while  working in one of the vessel&#8217;s cargo holds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facts coming to us do not relate whether the bale fell during hoisting or perhaps fell out of stow.
