{"id":6273,"date":"2023-03-14T14:42:18","date_gmt":"2023-03-14T19:42:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blueoceana.com\/?p=6273"},"modified":"2023-04-23T11:32:03","modified_gmt":"2023-04-23T16:32:03","slug":"rtg-operator-suffers-fatal-heart-attack-climbing-to-his-cranes-cab-wilmington-delaware-11-march-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=6273","title":{"rendered":"RTG Operator Suffers Fatal Heart Attack Climbing To His Crane&#8217;s Cab  [Wilmington, Delaware &#8211; 11 March 2023]"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Information coming to Blueoceana Company has us understand that Mr. Orlando Coleman, 57, a member of ILA Local Union 1694, died as a result of a heart attack suffered last Saturday morning (11 March) while on the cab access deck of a rubber tired gantry crane (RTG) after ascending the lifting appliance&#8217;s stairway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the Wilmington, Delaware terminal&#8217;s location is contiguous between Dole Fresh Fruit and Gulftainer, it is believed that the RTG at issue is that of Dole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellow workers came to his aid and administered resuscitation methods, closely followed by rescue personnel from the City of Wilmington&#8217;s Fire Department.
