With great thanks to the G2 Ocean group, we acknowledge their safety bulletin of 15 February 2023. We provide a link to that bulletin below. G2 Ocean is a joint venture of two of the world\u2019s largest open hatch ship-owning companies Gearbulk and Grieg Maritime Group. Since the company was launched in 2017, G2 Ocean has become one of the world\u2019s largest ship operators within the open hatch segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While we fully appreciate G2 Ocean’s reluctance to provide identifiable “who, when & where” attributes, we can only apologize to those reading this post for that absence. Should we come upon those attributes going forward, we’ll be happy to fill in the blanks as appropriate. What we can say, is that this accident did not occur at a U.S. port and that its likely date is within the January\/February 2023 timeframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We commend the Safety Bulletin’s photographic illustrations, in that they are quite instructive in allowing us some insight in this loading-of-superbags [intermediate bulk containers] related incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
