This afternoon, while coming to berth at the Indonesian port of Semerang, C\/V SOUL OF LUCK <\/strong>struck a container gantry crane with the flare of her bow and brought it down……<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don’t know, as yet, whether there were any injuries to dockside staff. We do note, however, that there are several yard tractor\/container rigs lined up under adjacent container cranes during the active docking process, which may be taking a little bit too much for granted. The attached video (see link below) provides an eyewitness-like perspective of this accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also understand that C\/V SOUL OF LUCK<\/strong> continued down the dock, striking general cargo ship M\/V CERIA 8<\/strong>, which broke her mooring lines and shifted along her berthing area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updated news reaching us a moment ago, indicates that one employee on dock suffered minor injuries; was treated and released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
