{"id":2895,"date":"2018-12-14T10:12:41","date_gmt":"2018-12-14T15:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blueoceana.com\/?p=2895"},"modified":"2018-12-14T10:27:13","modified_gmt":"2018-12-14T15:27:13","slug":"over-the-road-truck-driver-struck-by-chassis-in-truck-line-miami-florida-14-december-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=2895","title":{"rendered":"Over-The-Road Truck Driver Struck By Chassis in Truck Line  [Miami, Florida &#8211; 14 December 2018]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Blueoceana Company has just been made aware of a fatal accident that occurred this morning (0705 AM) at a marine terminal&#8217;s inbound truck line at the Port of Miami, FL.<\/p>\n<p>We await updates that include more details.<\/p>\n<p>From what we&#8217;ve been made to understand at this point, however, an over-the-road truck driver was waiting in the line and decided to exit his vehicle&#8217;s cab and lean on the MT chassis being brought into the terminal by another driver in front o<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">f him.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>That other driver apparently didn&#8217;t notice the first driver using his chassis as a leaning post, and when the line began to move&#8230;. he moved with it.<\/p>\n<p>The result, in this particular case; if we correctly understand the circumstance described to us, must have looked very much like the events in the attached video (captured years ago at a completely different marine terminal).<\/p>\n<p>At the Port of Miami, as it is at most every U.S. container port, over- the-road truck drivers are instructed in a number of generally effective ways to stay within their trucks unless specifically advised otherwise.
