{"id":1610,"date":"2017-04-07T19:45:26","date_gmt":"2017-04-08T00:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blueoceana.com\/?p=1610"},"modified":"2018-07-01T08:31:13","modified_gmt":"2018-07-01T13:31:13","slug":"marine-terminal-worker-allegedly-drowns-during-hatch-cover-shifting-convent-la-20-march-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueoceana.com\/?p=1610","title":{"rendered":"Marine Terminal Worker Drowns During Barge Hatch Cover Shifting  [Convent, LA &#8211; 20 March 2017]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After nearly two weeks of attempting to secure some tangible media coverage, Blueoceana Company must now independently report the death of an employee at Associated Terminals, Inc. of Convent, Louisiana <a href=\"http:\/\/www.associatedterminals.com\">http:\/\/www.associatedterminals.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Reports coming to our firm, indicate that Earnest Harris was engaged in shifting two or more nested, fiberglass hatch covers coming off a barge moored at Associated&#8217;s Mississippi River facility. Apparently, the load got away from both he and a crane operator, causing him to be pushed into the River where he was swept away by the current.
