Longshoreman Crushed by Falling Container While Bicycling on Public Road [Long Beach, CA ~ 27 October 2015]

Off duty longshoreman, Robert Castorena, was on his bicycle alongside Sante Fe Avenue at the Long Beach-Carson border, when a flatbed trailer carrying an intermodal container apparently low-bridged a railroad overpass Castorena was riding under. The impact ripped the container away from the webbed strapping that was holding the container down at its four corners, and off the flatbed. The container then apparently hit the pavement, bounced up and landed on Mr. Castorena, killing him instantly.
