Egyptian Docker Fatally Injured During Project Cargo Discharge [Alexandria, Egypt – 13 February 2026]
Limited information received by Blueoceana Company has us understand that a worker involved in the discharge of large project cargo components from M/V ANKA suffered fatal crushing injuries at an-as-yet undisclosed marine terminal at Alexandria port, Egypt yesterday (13 February), when a component weighing many tons fell on him.
The causal aspects of this accident are presently unknown. If and when those facts are arrived at and made available this post will be updated accordingly.
The cargo was consigned to a Russian firm constructing the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant, a project now under construction on the Mediterranean Coast; West of Alexandria city. In a 2017 agreement between the Egyptian and Russian governments, it is believed that the latter is financing 85% of construction costs and guaranteeing the supply of fuel for the life of the reactor.
