Sub-Contractor’s Worker Found Dead Inside Intermodal Tank Container [Bayway Terminal – Linden, New Jersey – 19 January 2026]

Information reaching Blueoceana Company has us understand that a 71 year old as-yet-unnamed worker was the victim of an accident that occurred at the Bayway Terminal/Refinery [Linden, New Jersey] in the early afternoon of 19 January 2026. Available media accounts (See below) indicate that the worker was engaged in filling an ISO tank container with a petroleum distillate (mineral oil) product when he apparently fell into the tank.

Unknown at this point in time, is whether the fall itself caused his death or if his life was claimed by the atmosphere that was developing within the tank container.
