Gantry Crane Mechanic Dead in Fatal Fall [Freeport, Bahamas – 26 December 2025]

With great regret, Blueoceana Company has been informed of a fatal accident which took place early (approx. 3:00 AM) this morning at the Hutchison Port Holdings marine terminal situated at Freeport, Grand Bahamas.

In that accident, 27 year-old Mr. Anderson Adderley, believed to be a member of the ILA-affiliated Grand Bahama Dock and Allied Workers Union, is said to have fallen a great distance from one of the terminal’s ship-to-shore gantry cranes that he was performing work on. Presently, we have no additional facts to relate.

We understand that Mr. Adderley had graduated from the University of the Bahamas in 2024, with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.

In the event that further information regarding the particulars of this accident becomes available, we will update this post accordingly.
