Information reaching Blueoceana Company would have us understand that Mr. Li Nan, a 27 year old dockworker at the port of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, was fatally injured when a hoist wire parted during cargo operations aboard M/V SAVITA (See photo below).
Media accounts (See also below) translated from the original Chinese appear to relate that Mr. Nan suffered multiple injuries to his head, face and back before being evacuated from the vessel’s hold by emergency response personnel. One of those media accounts reports subsequent cardiac and pulmonary deficits.
