Fatal Accident During Shipboard Bulk Sugar Discharge Operation  [Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania 09 December 2024]

Media reports indicate that Mr. Bryan Mena, 26, a member of the United Steelworkers Local 15253, was struck and killed by the bucket of a bulk cargo excavator while his cohort of workers were discharging a cargo of bulk sugar from M/V GENCO PICARDY (See photo below), while in the employ of the Kinder Morgan-operated Falls Port marine terminal on the Delaware River (Bucks County, PA)

No further substantive facts regarding the accident are presently available to the public, but it is known that the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) is presently conducting its mandatory investigation/inspection.
