Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Killed in Pedestrian/Vehicular Incident [Montreal, Quebec, Canada – 26 April 2024]

From a friend at Montreal port, Blueoceana Company has been made to understand that an as-yet unnamed over-the-road truck driver lost his life earlier today at Termont Marine Terminal at that port, when he was struck by another over-the-road truck driver while inside the facility.

While the media report linked to below obliquely speaks in terms of “…the victim had his skull crushed by a heavyweight”,  our source has related to us that the fatally injured driver had been out of his tractor’s cab; on foot, searching the stacks for a container he was calling for when struck by the other driver’s rig.

We await further information which, if and when received, will be posted here as an Update.

UPDATE (10 May 5:00 PM): From friends at Montreal port we now understand that the fatally injured commercial vehicle operator was Mr. Kalu Nchege Okeke, who is survived by his wife, his mother and four children.
