Ro-Ro Ship Means of Access Security Guard Killed in Run-Over Accident [Pasaia Port, Spain – 26 January 2024]

Information coming to Blueoceana Company has us understand that a forty seven (47) year old security guard, while stationed on or near the stern ramp of an as-yet unnamed United European Car Carriers Ro-Ro vessel loading cargo/vehicles at the Bay of Biscay Pasaia port, Spain on 26 January 2024, was run-over by a tractor/mafi combination and very seriously injured. He died of his injuries the next day.

News reports indicate that the marine terminal/stevedoring operation is run by the Noatum organization.

Fellow workers at the port conducted memorial/protest gatherings, demanding more stringent workplace assessments with regard to occupational safety & health matters.
