Port Checker Dies in Industrial Truck Runover [27 October 2023 – Tubarão (Serra) Port, Brazil]

Senhor. Sebastião Freita, a 66 year old checker at what is believed to be the TPS (AcrelorMittal) steel export terminal in Tubarão port, Brazil, was fatally injured on 27 October, 2023 when reportedly run over by a forklift truck within the terminal’s yard.

He had been taken by ambulance to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries several hours after arriving there.

Investigators have yet to identify the operator of the industrial truck.
