Two Longshore Workers Dead in Separate Shipboard Incidents [Bizerte, Tunisia – 15 & 22 June, 2023]

With great regret, Blueoceana Company has been made to understand that Mr. Rafik Thawed, 31 was fatally injured when crushed between two intermodal containers that were loaded/being loaded aboard an unnamed vessel at the Port of Bizerte, Tunisia on 15 June 2023.

A least one witness has stated that the crane operator loading the containers could not see Mr. Thawadi in the position he was occupying.

Several days later (22 June 2023) an unnamed, 25 year old longshoreman working aboard an unnamed vessel unloading bulk grain fell to his death from an unspecific shipboard location.
