Marine Terminal M&R Worker Victim in Fatal Fall [Antofagasta Port, Chile – 03 August 2022]

With great regret, Blueoceana Company has been made aware of a fatal (fall from an undisclosed height) accident taking place at Antofagasta port, Chile earlier today. In that accident, Sr. Dublin Ivan Zambrana Toledo, 37, a marine terminal maintenance & repair worker, fell from a “considerable” height while performing work on a piece of unnamed port equipment.

We know that the Sr. Zambrana Toledo was a member of the organized workforce at Antofagasta International Terminals (ATI), that he was married and that he had many friends. We hope for further, accident specific, details. Should additional information become available they will appear at this post, as updates.

UPDATE08 August: Reports have confirmed that Sr. Zambrana Toledo fell from the elevated leg of a conveyor normally used in the loading of bulk [copper] ore.
