Lasher Suffers Fatal Fall From Elevated Walkway [Venice, Italy – 23 May 2022]

News received today by Blueoceana Company, has us understand that Mr. Allesandro Zabeo, 34, a lasher employed by a contractor engaged by the terminal operator (VECON), fell approximately 3 meters (10 feet) from his position on an unnamed vessel’s catwalk (elevated lashing walkway). He struck his head, became unconscious and then comatose.

He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he died the following day.
