Longshore Worker Suffers Fatal Fall From Deck Container Stow [Chittagong, Bangladesh – 27 April 2022]

Late arriving news reaching Blueoceana Company today reveals that dock worker Mr. Amin Ullah, 55 years old, fell from container deck stows aboard C/V CAPE SYROS (See photos above and below) on April 27, 2022, suffering fatal injuries.

Available media accounts quote a port official who suggests that the accident victim “became dizzy… from the scorching heat.” There is no suggestion about any type of fall protection being provided to individuals who may become so susceptible, nor of any type of remedial measures that may be provided to offset high heat hazards.
