Dockworker Fatally Injured in Coal Loading Incident   [Lyttleton Port, New Zealand – 25 April 2022]

Blueoceana Company has received word today from a friend at a New Zealand port which relates the death of longshore worker Don Grant at Lyttleton port this morning, during the conveyor-loading of bulk coal aboard M/V ETG AQUARIUS (See video clip below).

Media reports (See also below) indicate that the worker was “buried” while presumably in one of the vessel’s hatches while the ship was berthed at Cashin Quay.
