Marine Terminal Worker Struck & Killed By Container Crane [25 October 2021 – Piraeus, Greece]

Media reports reaching Blueoceana Company this morning, relate that an as-yet unnamed marine terminal worker in his 40’s was apparently crushed between a container bridge crane and its rails yesterday (25 October 2021) at the Greek port of Piraeus.

The marine terminal at issue is known as The Piraeus Container Terminal (A COSCO-owned enterprise); the accident occurred approximately 7:15 PM (Athens time) at Pier Two. The worker is said to be an employee of DPort Services.

Such accounts would have us understand that the worker had finished his shift and was returning to the crane to pick up some personal belongings when the accident occurred.
