In researching the recent accident experience at the Pacific Ocean Port of Manzanillo, Mexico (Colima State), we’ve come upon a fatal incident occurring at a container terminal there on 18 July 2020.
In that accident, one marine terminal worker was killed and two others were injured when a container was apparently dropped/knocked onto a pick up truck within a container yard.
From a colleague working at Manzanillo port, we’re made to understand that the fallen container was struck by a laden RTG during normal operations and displaced from a stack.
We’re working to confirm that understanding, and will post updates if and when they become available.
