Export Grain Trimmer Fatally Engulfed in Soybean Cargo [Santos, Brazil – 25 August 2020]

With great regret, Blueoceana Company has been provided with news that speaks to the death of a port worker at Santos, Brazil last Tuesday (25 August 2020) in the very early morning hours.

Our understanding, is that Sr. Francisco Gomes de Souza was operating a trimming excavator; assisting in the loading of bulk export grain (soybean bran) into a vessel at the time of the accident.

The articles linked-to below are somewhat unspecific as to the mechanics of the accident, but it appears certain that engulfment was the proximate cause of the port worker’s death.
