C/V MILANO BRIDGE Allides With Shoreside Container Crane; Brings It Down… [Busan, South Korea – 06 April 2020]

From a good friend at Busan Port, South Korea, Blueoceana Company has been advised that earlier today C/V MILANO BRIDGE‘s stern end contacted an outboard leg of a ship-to-shore container crane while docking at the Pier Two marine terminal facility at Busan’s “New Port” (Gangseo-gu].

We are able to provide a link to a live video clip which chronicles this morning’s event. (See below)

Through another video clip provided by a good friend in The Netherlands (but which file size is too large to post here unedited), we know that two tugs were present. Anecdotal information coming to us appears to indicate that the ship encountered propulsion difficulties during the berthing process.

Further information coming to us indicates that there are no known injuries as a consequence of the allision.

We regret the orientation of the video, but when correcting it the file size was tripled… making it impossible to mount here.
